Brief: Design for Action. Design for Change.
Define a social, cultural, environmental or political issue you feel passionately about. Your response should show informed and creative design thinking in the form of finished graphic design artifact(s) that addresses this cause and allows for its audience to be actively involved in creating change.
Outcome: Man Up is a project with an aim of challenging men to open up and talk about it. Whether it is a small problem in your life which makes your days difficult or it is the really difficult stuff. Men should be able to talk about it without being labelled with the sentence ‘Man up dude, your should deal with your own problems yourself, because mental toughness isn’t being silent and dealing with it yourself, it is opening up and talking to others about how you feel, that is being strong and manning up.
Man up is also about challenging the way life is being portrayed on social media and especially Instagram. It aims to create awareness about how Instagram is a curated story of people’s life, people choose themselves what they want to show, which is often only ‘perfect’ shots and that things might not be as good as it is being portrayed.
