Visits – Whitechapel Art Gallery

Tuesday we had our first encounter with Whitechapel Art Gallery. It was part of our first mini block in CSS (Critical & Contextual Studies).

The exhibition was about The Kibbo Kift Kindred movement which were formed in 1920 by the artist, writer and pacifist John Hargrave after becoming disillusioned with the Boy Scout movement. The Kibbo Kift philosophy was based on a shared appreciation of nature and handicraft, as well as a commitment to world peace. The exhibition tries to tell the story, and inform you about the life they lived in the movement which existed between 1920-1932. And for us it was to get a new view for our exhibition review. You can read more about the exhibition here.
